Statement of Faith

We believe the Holy Scriptures, both the Old and New Testaments, to be verbally inspired of God in the original documents, infallible and God-breathed, a perfect rule of faith and practice and does not only contain and convey the word of God, but IS the very WORD of God. (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:19-21; 1 Corinthians 2:12-13; Proverbs 30:5)

The Triune God - We believe in the Triune God – Father, Son and Holy Spirit – who is holy, loving, good, wise and almighty; who has created his world out of nothing, who sustains, provides for and rules all things, who is our only Redeemer and who will judge all people. (Luke 3:21-22; Matthew 28:19-20; Ephesians 1:3-14)

God the Father - We believe in the person of God the Father who sends both God the Son and God the Holy Spirit in redemptive history. We believe that the Father has provided a great salvation for those who repent of their sins and trust Christ and His finished work through the through the cross and resurrection of Jesus; that He calls, regenerates, justifies, forgives, adopts, sanctifies, keeps and will glorify them. (John 14:26; Romans 8:28-39; John 4:24)

God the Son - We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is the Son of God and God the Son, the only mediator between God and humans, who added full humanity to his perfect deity through the virgin birth, obeyed God perfectly, died for our sins on the cross and bodily rose again to defeat Satan, returned to heaven to pour out the Holy Spirit at Pentecost and to intercede for his people. (John 14:1-11; 1 Timothy 2:5; Colossians 1:15-20; Hebrews 1; Philippians 2:5-11)

God the Holy Spirit - We believe in the person of the Holy Spirit who has been sent to complete and perfect in us all of the works that Jesus did for us. He convicts, regenerates, sanctifies, gifts us for ministry and assures us of our salvation. (Romans 8:1-27; John 16:7-15;1 Corinthians 12; 1 Corinthians 13:8-13)

We believe that God created men and women in His image and likeness for fellowship with Himself and to carry out the creation ordinances, that Adam sinned and that through his disobedience the entire race was alienated from God and is born depraved and totally lost. We further affirm that all human life is sacred and to be protected since it is the image of God. (Genesis 1-3; Romans 5:12-21; Isaiah 53:6; Psalm 139:13-16)

We believe that God freely justifies His people by granting them faith in the sinless life, shed blood, and resurrection of Jesus the Christ. This faith receives and rests on Christ and His righteousness alone. Thus, believers are born again by grace through faith apart from works. (Ephesians 2:8-10; John 3:16-18; Acts 4:8-12; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Romans 5:1-9)

Civil Government - We believe that civil government is of divine appointment and that we are responsible to be good citizens. We believe that the magistrates are to be prayed for, conscientiously honored, and obeyed. However, should government command us to violate God’s Word, we must obey God rather than men. (Romans 13:1-7; 1 Peter 2:13; Acts 4:18-20)

Marriage - We believe that Adam and Eve's union as man and woman models God's design for marriage and perpetually stands as God's loving and righteous will for human sexual intimacy.  Marriage is a lifelong, sacred covenant instituted by God and is intended to express the "one flesh" union of a man and a woman.  The marriage union reflects the unity of our triune God and uniquely models the relationship between Christ and the church. (Genesis 2:18, 24, Colossians 3:18-21, Ephesians 5:31-32, Hebrews 13:4)

Family & Children - We believe that God designed family relationships to be the primary formative structure for the growth and flourishing of parents and children.  God expresses his love for children through His Word and describes true religion as providing for those without a typical family for support. (Psalm 127:3-5, Exodus 20:12, Mark 10:13-16, James 1:27)

Adoption - The Word of God expresses the love of God for those without a typical family support and uses Adoption as picture of God’s redemptive work in our lives through Christ Jesus. (Psalms 68:5-6, Galatians 4:5-7, Ephesians 1:5)

We believe that God has established the universal church, the body of Christ, which is composed of all born-again believers of this age and that Christ is the only head of that church. (1 Peter 2:9-10; Colossians 1:18; 1 Corinthians 12:12-27)

We believe that local churches are organized manifestations of the universal church and should be comprised of baptized believers associated by covenant in the faith and fellowship of the gospel. (Galatians 1:2; 1 Corinthians 1:2; Philippians 1:1; 1 Thessalonians 1:1)
